You are bidding on a used Surly 29er custom build single speed hardtail mountain bike in a size small. I believe the frame is about a 2009 or so. Its in good shape no dents not major damage. Of course it is a mountain bike and does show normal signs of wear. Specs are as follows: Fork is a Rockshox Reba Race w/ lockout. I believe the travel is 110mm. Handlebar, stem, and seatpost are all Cannondale aluminum components. Stem is 110mm ctc.Brakes are Avid Juicy 3 hydraulic disc brakes. Cranks are Truvativ Stylo. Size 175mm an chain ring cog combo is 32×18. Chain is a KMC Lite TI gold.Wheels are Stans NoTubes ZTR Arch wheels with ZTR hubs. They are mounted on Maxxis Ignitor tires. Headset is CrankBros Cobalt SL. Saddle is a Fizik Aliante. I will include the carbon Blackburn water bottle cage. Any questions please feel free. Bike as is weighs 23 pounds.  Up for bids is a used Surly Karate Monkey 29er mountain bike in great condition.  The frame size is XL 22″, color is camp stove green.  Bike comes with a Rock Shox suspension fork installed, and the bike will also come with the stock Karate Monkey rigid fork.  Frame and rigid fork have both disc brake tabs as well as removable canit boss mounts (currently removed, not included).  Frame dimensions are 23.5″ top tube measured center to center; 22″ seat tube measured center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube, 19.5″ of seat tube measured center of bottom bracket to center of top tube.  Surly defines their frame size as the center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube measurement, which is 22″.  The rigid Karate Monkey fork has 7.5″ (190mm) of steer tube, 43mm rake, suspension corrected for 85mm of travel, and has disc brake tabs as well as removable threaded canti pivots.  Bike is set up as a 2 x 9, has a triple crank and the small ring has been removed and front derailleur adjusted to only shift in two gears, 9 speeds in the cassette.  List of components :Fork: Rock Shox Reba SL 29″ 80mm travel.  Matching Surly Karate Monkey rigid fork.Wheels:  Bontrager Race Lite 29″ Disc.  Sealed bearings, 6 bolt ISO mount, double wall rims with eyelets, double butted SS spokes.  Velox rim tape. This is a 2008 Surly Karate Monkey frameset in size XL.  XL  measures up with a 22″ seatube.  If you’re interested in this frameset you should probably be in the 6 foot or taller range.  (All geometries are available on the Surly website.  Surly changed the frame design a bit last year, so standover height differs between  the newest version available and this one).  This is a great riding and super versatile frameset.  Run it v-brake or with discs; single-speed or geared; with the rigid fork or with your own suspension fork, this bike can do it all!  I ran it the last year with drop bars, and liked the position enough to pop for the Salsa Fargo frameset, hence the sale of this frameset.

Condition is used with the appropriate scratches to prove its use. (Nothing too bad- but its not perfect!)  Frame interior has been treated with JP Wiegle’s frame saver rust inhibitor.

Great 29er frame with Surly Karate Monkey specific fork, unsealed headset (Ritchey) and Kalloy seat post.If you’re unfamiliar with the Surly Karate Monkey here’s the spiel:It’s capable of doing most anything. 26″, 700c and 29″ wheel sets will roll this frame down the trail, bike path or alleyway without any trouble. There are brake posts for (cantilever brakes or v-brakes) and there are disk brake mounts. You could run four brakes at once! You can run this frame single speed or geared with its horizontal drop-outs and deraillier hanger (and cable guides). Its got tabs for mounting fenders and/or a rack. And it’s constructed of steel so it’ll take whatever you dish out.Anyway, there are a few minor paint scratches and most of the decals have been removed (for style) in frame and fork but the frame, fork, headset and seat post, though they do not look new, function like new. There is a minor dent (about the size of a small almond) on the bottom right side of the top tube (pictured in the top-middle of the close up shot) that does not sacrifice any functionality of the frame. It was purchased in the fall of 2009 and was ridden on trails and commuted with. The frame, fork, headset and seat post were well taken care of so there’s a lot of miles left on this ride.This frame is small (16″) in size which fit me (i’m 5’10″) quite well for riding as a 29er. Steerer tube is cut to fit a Kalloy as-008 1 1/8″ stem with included spacers.No returns accepted. USA bids only.
