2010 Niner Air9 29er 29” Tubeless Wheelset Mountain Bike Shimano Xt

2010 Niner Air9 29er 29” tubeless Mountain Bike
19” Niner Air9 Scandium Frame. Rockshox Reba Race 29er fork. Specialized Aluminum flat bar. Ritchie stem
(pictured alone 5 degree/110mm, I think) or the offbrand stem(70mm/35 degree)
seen pictured on the bike – buyer chooses.
I switched it to ride in a less aggressive position. Ritchie 31.6mm Aluminum seatpost. WTB Pure V saddle – new, only used a few
times. Chris King Headset. Avid Juicy 7 hydraulic disc brakes with
carbon levers and carbon reservoir covers – new pads front and rear, and I just bled
the rear. Truvativ Stylo Cranks
175mm. Set up as a 1×10. Front chainring is a new 34tooth Blackspire –
used three times. Shimano XT 10 speed
shifter and rear derailleur. Brand new
Shimano XT CS-M771 – 10 Speed Dyna Sys Cassette 11-36new – used three
times. Brand new GXP team Bottom
Bracket – also 3 trail rides. The rims are true tubeless
ready, and I’m running them tubeless now.
The wheelset is a Shimano Deore XT Centerlock 29er Disc WH-MT75. The freehub body was bad in it when I bought
the bike and I just had it replaced three rides ago. The rims have some scratches and chips in the
paint, but they are very close to true – just the slightest wobble.
The tires however have a little more wobble in them. I don’t know if they are warped or if I just
don’t have the bead seated well, but I ride them on moderate trails, tubeless,
just as they are, and I haven’t lost air (or Stan’s) yet. Tires are Kenda Small Block 8s and have a
decent amount of tread left. This bike
weighs about 25 pounds, maybe a little less, without the pedals. The pedals pictured on the bike are not
included, but I am including another set of Shimano clipless pedals that came
with the bike when I bought it (See picture).
The grips pictured are not included (oddly enough, I’m sentimental about
them). I can slide on some cheap gray
rubber grips or ship it without, buyer decides.
This is a pretty sweet
bike, but it is not perfect. Here is the
downside on a few things. The frame,
just beside the front chainring, has a pretty gnarly chain suck gouge. The picture shows it as well as I could. The gouge goes beyond the depth of the paint,
but it isn’t all that bad, and I was assured by the bike store manager who sold
this bike to me used that it would not affect the integrity of the frame(He had
100% feedback on eBay also). Overall the
paint looks virtually new. There are a few
small chips, mostly out of sight on the bottom, and I’ve read that this is
common on this frame. Otherwise this
frame is considered one of the fastest and lightest non-carbon frames of 2010,
and this one has no dents at all. The
Reba fork does not leak air and works well, but the lockout does not work, and
you can see a pretty good scratch on it in the pictures (it doesn’t affect
anything). I’ve noticed that both brake
rotors have a very slight bend or wobble to them making it difficult to set the
brakes perfectly, but it is very ridable or race-able, but if you demand
perfection, you’ll need to have them straightened or get new ones. These hubs use centerlock rotors, or you can
get adapters for about $20 and use standard 6-bolt rotors. I’ve noticed some
shifting into more difficult gears when climbing. I haven’t had this looked at yet, but when it
happened to me on a previous bike, it was just a bent derailleur arm that was
very fixable. There are tape marks still on the frame from where it was packed and shipping to me. Those are not scratches. I could’ve cleaned the whole thing up better, but hey, it’s a mountain bike.
This
build new would be around $3000.
Starting it at $1350 and $79 shipping, but that is because of paypal and
eBay f.e.e.s. If you are anywhere near
Montgomery, Alabama, you’ll find it for less on Craigslist where I also have it
listed.
Also, if actual shipping charges are less than $79, I’ll refund the difference.
Shipping
to the lower 48 U.S. states only. And
I’m only accepting PayPal or cash in person.
Sorry, too many check scams out there these days.
I
have 100% positive feedback on eBay as a seller and buyer, and I want to
maintain that. I’ve represented this
bike as truthfully as I can. And in case
you are wondering, this is my personal bike, which I’ve owned for a very short
time, and I’m downgrading for financial reasons. If you have any questions or need additional
pictures, please message me. I have more pics but this was all eBay would lt me upload. This bike
is being sold as-is. I will accept
returns but the buyer would have to pay for return shipping and any fees lost.
Thanks
for looking!
